CC-March 16, 2010 - Soil Based Organisms
________________________________________________________________________________
2 Minute Session Overview
The Session Overview below is provided as a courtesy to those who prefer to read than listen, yet on each call additional insights are given which round out the subject.
Soil Based Organisms (SBO's) -
Biological organisms (critters) in the soil that match the human and animal intestinal flora requirements (probiotics). SBO's are as natural and as old as the Earth!
Laboratory cultures of single strains, later bottled or encapsulated with numerous fillers are not true broad spectrum SBO's.
If your probiotic has to be refridgerated, it is also not an SBO. SBO's can lie dormant in a dry medium for decades, yet will readily become active with a small amount of moisture.
Their presence is self-regulating based on the job to be done and their available food supply. Fed properly, they will increase and decrease naturally according to the need of the day.
SBO's survive stomach acids just fine. They were built by Nature to pass through your stomach, even nourish the stomach's digestive needs, and multiply in the small and large intestines (especially the appendix!).
Antibiotics and other chemicals kill the vital SBO's needed by your intestines, and have become the #1 underlying cause of almost all dis-ease.
One teaspoon of simple organic garden compost can contain over a billion microorganisms beneficial to human health. This is only one example of how gardening can improve your health.
Bare hands and feet working the garden soil can provide the body with an exceptional array of beneficial bacteria (probiotics).
SBO's are also naturally found in well composted organic soils, clays and ancients deposits of decomposed lake and forest debris (often millions of years old).
Humic/Fulvic Substances are one such example of an ancient composted forest (on its way to becoming coal), that naturally contains an uncountable number of pre- and pro-biotics elements.
Prebiotics
Prebiotics are the foundational food source for probiotics. Common sources of prebiotics are also found within certain foods (but not all) and include:
a. Raw Chicory Root (1/3 oz. per day),
b. Jerusalem Artichoke Root (not the globe types) (3/4 oz. per day),
c. Asparagus (1/4 lb. per day),
c. Dandelion Leaf (1 oz. per day),
f. Onion (both cooked and raw) (1/4 lb. per day),
d. Yacon,
g. Jicama,
h. Sweet Dairy Whey (not the microfiltered version)
i. Raw Goat's Milk Kefir and Whey,
j. Sauerkraut,
k. Colostrum.
11 Ways SBO's Build Vibrant Health
1) SBO's create and maintain an optimal biological terrain in the small and large intestines (reset the proper chemical environment).
2) SBO's flush out harmful pathogens (viruses, bacteria, yeasts, and even parasites). SBO's are one of Nature's most effective detoxifiers.
3) SBO's disintegrate the leather-like mucoid plaque of undigested food and mucus in the small intestines, eliminating the breeding grounds for pathogens, yeast and parasites.
4) SBO's improve nutrient absorption by opening the pathways to your intestinal villi for the nutrients from new food to make contact.
5) SBO's play a major role in the breakdown and conversion of food into bioavailable nutrients.
6) SBO's produce new RNA & DNA, activating cellular repair and improving the inner workings of each cell. This process naturally speeds the healing of wounds, burns, surgical incisions, and infections.
7) SBO's provide GLA (gamma linolenic acid), an essential fatty acid responsible for crucial hormone production. Without GLA, the endocrine system would not be able to function.
8) SOD (superoxide dismutase), a powerful antioxidant, is formed as a byproduct of SBO metabolism. SOD dramatically reduces organ and tissue damage during states of deteriorating health, resulting in greater ability of the cell to receive nourishment and to self-repair.
9) SBO's activate the manufacture of alpha interferon, a key immune system regulator. Research has identified over 50 immune regulating effects of alpha interferon, particularly in the area of neutralizing pathogenic viruses behind numerous life-threatening illnesses.
10) SBO's indirectly stimulate the massive production of unprogrammed antibodies to fill the bloodstream with an army of scouts on a mission to find pathogens. This support system, derived from the daily ingestion of SBO's, vastly enhances the human immune system.
11) SBO's stimulate the production of human lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is one of the body's most effective natural bacteriocides and fungicides. The highest known food source of lactoferrin is found in the colostrum of mother's milk.
Following 'first milk", SBO's, found abundantly in Nature, take over the job of supplying the body with a steady stream of lactoferrin.
The action of lactoferrin is accomplished by withholding iron from pathogenic bacteria, virus, fungus, and parasites (resulting in their destruction), while delivering extremely bioavailable forms of iron directly to the epithelial cells of the small intestines where it can do the most good. Iron is an integral component of cellular oxygenation.
Bovine lactoferrin is not effective in the human body in this same way, therefore bovine lactoferrin supplements will not produce viable results.
SBO's appear to be the only source for adults currently to obtain human-derived lactoferrin.
Summary
In essence, SBO's affect every major aspect of our health from to immune responses, to pathogen reduction, to cellular health and repair, to hormone synthesis, to antioxidant activity, to detoxification, to obtaining nutrition from the food we eat.
What I believe to be the finest SBO source in America is now being supplied in our redesigned Friendly Flora probiotic/prebiotic formulation.
