How to Build a Powerful Immune System — Part Four — Tooth Inflammation, Abscess, and Cavities

October 07, 2026 7 min read

Common and Surprisingly Little-Known Relationships Between Food, Beverage, and Teeth

Tooth inflammation is one of the most common conditions of the mouth when the diet gets off, or when specific mineral nutrients, like boron, are deficient in the soil in which one’s food is grown. Boron is an important mineral for bone and teeth density.

Inflamed teeth can show up in a number of ways prior to developing an actual tooth cavity, including:

  • an inflammation of the inner pulp or nerve,

  • a root or jawbone abscess,

  • an abscess of the gums,

  • or an inflammation of the periodontal ligament that anchors the tooth into the jaw.

Tenderness around a tooth is the first sign that the diet is off, and can be used as an early sign to correct some aspect of the diet to prevent this from developing into the more serious deterioration of the enamel and inner dentin of the teeth.

Although, conventional dentistry typically resorts to antibiotics, root canals, fillings, or extraction, which most often result in long-term health problems and further deterioration of the teeth, there is, in many instances, a better, safer approach.

There is a substantial body of evidence among traditional herbology worldwide and personal experience, that document the use of specific botanical therapies and clay minerals for resolving oral inflammation and infection — providing that the contributing aspects of the diet are corrected as well.

Background on This Information

Below, I’m going to offer some insights into what I have discovered to be some of the primary causes of tooth inflammation, abscess, and dental decay, followed by simple, powerful — sometimes immediate — first aid solutions.

I am drawing these insights from over 50 years of personal experience, observation, and the case histories of numerous individuals over the last 26 years after consulting with over 10,000 clients in numerous areas of health.

So, count this as my personal opinion, knowing that there is plenty of biological science and commonsense to back it up, although very few health practitioners connect some of the dots in the way I am about to describe here in this article.

Causal Dietary Choices that Lead to Tooth Inflammation and Abscess

In most instances the foremost trigger of an inflammation around a tooth has to do with — you guessed it — sugar, which in most cases it will be the boiled down sugar concentrates that form the greatest likelihood of triggering a tooth inflammation or abscess.

Pile of Brown Sugar

This includes all brown and white cane sugar concentrates, coconut nectar concentrate, stevia concentrate, maple syrup concentrate, date concentrate, monk fruit concentrate, agave concentrate, and of course, the high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners, as well as alcohol in general overall (including wine), along with a number of other sweet concentrates — even those created by Nature Herself — like honey, when consumed regularly at more than a teaspoon or so per day.

Fortunately, there is one exception in the granulated sugar category that is readily available now to the public — granulated, NON CONCENTRATED maple syrup crystals made by Wilderness Poets. It has NOT been through the typical boiling down process of Grades A and B maple syrup. (I am not affiliated with them, but enjoy their cacao powder and goji berries as well.)

For those looking for a mineral-rich alternative to granulated sugar, this is one I CAN recommend. Yet still, all things in moderation.

Exercise Burns Sugar First

If you are regularly working out or have a physically demanding job, more can generally be tolerated, only because sugar is the first thing that is burned before the body reaches for the fats.

Long-Term Side Effects of Sugar Concentrates

A sugar compromise might produce some noticeable short term discomfort, or none at all immediately, but typically, the more challenging pathogen overgrowth builds over several more days or even weeks, depending on the strength of your immune system and exercise habits.

Whole Fruit and Honey Excesses

Yes, inflammation can also be triggered by fruits and honey when consumed at a rate of sugar intake that the body cannot assimilate sufficiently to prevent high sugar levels in the blood.

A high quantity of fructose, sucrose, or glucose in a fruit or honey can quickly swing the tide toward an inflammation, abscess, or accelerated tooth decay.

Surprisingly for some, the prime culprit in the fruit department that can accelerate tooth decay when consumed in volume (especially if you also consume a quantity of oils, fats, and nuts in the diet) — are bananas and dates.

Why bananas and dates? High concentration of sugar in each — and it’s not easy to just eat one!

Dates are typically more dense in the mineral department, due in part to their common growing environment being mineral-rich sandy soil, but bananas tend to be mass-produced in soil-deficient environments.

Mineral electrolytes are required by the body to metabolize sugar and acids.

The antidote to mineral deficiencies and acidity is simply — eat more sea vegetables, being among the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet.  Sea Vegetable Blend

Acidity and Enamel Decay

High sugar levels in the body also lead to higher levels of acidity in the body — which is the primary contributing cause of tooth enamel deterioration, but not inflammation or abscess as much, unless one is consuming citrus juices, like orange juice or carbonated colas, that are also high in sugar.

Acidic Food and Beverages and Enamel Decay

  • Coffee,

  • carbonated beverages (commonly carbonated with phosphoric acid),

  • citrus fruits,

  • and other food and beverages lacking in mineral nutrients — as is the case for most all commercial food sources today due to chemical farming practices and deficient soils.

Assortment of lemons, limes, oranges and other citrus fruits

Be sure to rinse your mouth out after eating citrus fruits to neutralize the acid on the teeth.

I once met a gentleman who was a fruitarian that ate a lot of citrus.  His teeth were simply small, totally black stubs. When asked what caused this, he said he once ate a lot of citrus fruits.

It felt like a message he wanted to get out to the public. So, be certain to rinse or brush after consuming citrus and other acidic foods, like tomatoes, coffee, sugar, and carbonated drinks.

A diet high in animal products also tends to promote higher acidity levels in the body, which will require a greater amount of alkalizing sea vegetables (seaweed, algae) and dark green vegetables to serve as an alkalizing offset to the acidity of animal products.

Nuts and Seeds

This one may come as a shock to many, but nuts rank second in my book for triggering a tooth inflammation or abscess — for several reasons:

Nuts are high in arginine and commonly low in lysine (the antidote to arginine).

Arginine is used in medical experiments to accelerate the development of pathogens in a petri dish. Nuts are common triggers of herpes, shingles, and the like, especially when used as one’s primary “protein” source, rather than the much higher sources of protein found in sea vegetables, especially the algae (as high as 70% protein).

  • Nuts stick to your teeth, therefore they also stick to your gut lining,

  • Nuts promote constipation, and thereby increase pathogen overgrowth — a natural response by the body when attempting to digest difficult foods, like nuts, animal flesh, cheese, refined flours, sugar, and processed, artificial foods.

  • Nuts and nut butters or nut cheeses are also commonly consumed with a sweetener or a fruit, like jelly, maple syrup, nut crust fruit pie, etc. This food combining error leads to bloat, gas, and digestive complaints.

Seeds, to a lesser extent can trigger the same, but only if consumed in greater quantities, like 3 or more tablespoons in a day.

Seeds are typically not as constipating as nuts due to their higher fiber content.

Along with the above mentions of sugars, a tooth inflammation or abscess is often a first sign that a dietary conflict is happening, and nuts are high on the list of triggers.

A constant feeding on nuts throughout the day is also a common contributing factor to chronic fatigue.

Why? Because putrefying, hard to digest food in the gut results in pathogen overgrowth, which compels the immune system to turn down body energy levels, so as to preserve this precious energy for resolving the overgrowth and inflamed conditions.

What’s the fastest way to regain your energy levels?

  1. Address the dietary causes.

  2. Activate immune system activity with herbs and mineral sources.

  3. Reduce food intake long enough to preserve digestive energy consumption for immune system activity.

  4. Get plenty of sleep, so the body can repair itself efficiently while you are sleeping.

What are the most effective ways to activate the immune system to a higher level of performance?

Immune Power (4-12 capsules every hour or two, or larger amounts at fewer intervals)

Take some Immune Power just before sleep or a nap — works wonders then, especially)

I’ve also observed the beneficial effects of Immune Power to carry on for at least 3 more days after stopping the regimen.

Add Black Seed Combo (if you need that extra punch). Only 4 capsules twice per day. Do not overdo this one as a detox reaction is more likely if overdone.

For an additional punch to the process, add Parasite, Venom Detox. Only 4 capsules twice per day. Do not overdo this one as a detox reaction is also more likely if overdone.

This is not true of Immune Power. I have personally taken over 125 capsules in a day, with nothing but excellent results (taken just to shorten the life of something sooner rather than later — quite commonly overnight).

What might some of the benefits be by following the above advice?

  • Faster return to health,

  • Increased mental clarity,

  • Higher energy levels,

  • Better sleep at night,

  • Improved mood and sense of peace inside.

What’s the fastest way to stop the pain, reduce inflammation, and draw out any abscess around a tooth?

  • Pack the affected area in the mouth with a small amount of Sacred Clay and a smaller amount of Ormalite. Spray the mouth periodically day and night with Manna Mist (an Ormalite water).

  • Mix the two powders with Castor Oil for even more efficient results.

These are my personal remedies of choice. They have worked for myself and countless others — providing the changes in the diet are also adhered to. OK, So What CAN I Eat?
