A Revolutionary 1 Day Fasting Protocol That Will Permanently Change Your Life

A regenerative, restorative, cleansing protocol, simple to ease into, that begins the process of giving you back your health, your vitality, your mental agility, even your life!

Once you experience the simplicity and power of this one day cleanse and surrounding protocol, you will possess a simple process that can transform your life in increasing measures, from this day forth.

Here’s how simple this can be:

Begin with the diet that you are now on — 

  1. Add a few herbal nutritive formulas to your current routine 20 minutes or more prior to each meal for three or more days in a row, as desired. 

  2. Then set aside 1 free day for a specific kind of fast (options exist),

  3. This special day concludes within 24 to 36 hours (your choice) from the moment you begin the fast following your evening meal (say 6 or 7 PM) — (1 night and 1 day — or 1 night, 1 day, and 1 night).

  4. Then, within a specific set of instructions, transition gradually back to the diet of your choice over the course of one more day, taking the same herbal nutritive formulas during this final transition day, along with a moderate, gradually increasing, light food intake during this day.

  5. Then resume your regular diet the next day (which, I guarantee you will naturally prefer one or two improvements to your diet from here on, though not mandatory).

To summarize: This one cleansing cycle involves:

  • Three or more preparatory days before, while still on the diet of your choice (which will effortlessly evolve)
  • One special cleansing day (which has a few optional approaches)
  • And one transition day, then back to the diet of your choice the following day

This general nourishing / cleansing protocol makes it easy for virtually anyone to break into a 1 day cleansing fast, even if they have never fasted a day in their life. 

More experienced fasters can modify the protocol at will to suit their current experience (options discussed below).

Simplictically speaking, there are only a few basic fasting approaches, each with a number of variations possible, if desired.

Based on my prior fasting experiences, from Water Fasts, to Herbal Nutrient Fasts, to several Dry Fasts (no food, no water), I have discovered that the most potent and effective fasting approach combines primarily #4 and #5 above, and occasionally, where desired, the first three fasting protocols.

Why am I proposing this combination approach to a calorie-restricted fasting protocol?

Because after going to an extreme during a 7 day herbal superfood nutrition followed by a 5 day dry fast — I learned something that changed my life — something I wish I had understood 50 years ago in 1976 when I first started on my own journey to recovering from severe chronic fatigue and numerous other health problems. 

First of all, Michelle Slater had a similar health condition – she called it Lyme. (I know better, she didn’t have “Lyme”, she had a condition caused by toxicity delivered during childhood medical treatments that weakened her immune response powers, making her susceptible to any form of insect bite, poor food choice, or other kinds of toxic or pathogenic exposures.)

Yet her gift to the world is her story about what healed her completely in less than two months.

Her health condition had gotten so bad that she was on the verge of going to Switzerland for assisted suicide. No treatment, medical or natural, proved effective. In fact both avenues merely made her condition worse. (Can anyone relate to this dilemma? — I’ll explain why.)

She did not know it at the time, that the issue was not a spirochete — it was a load of toxins that her body was unable to shake — until she dry fasted for 7 days at Dr. Sergei Filonov’s clinic in Russia. Since then she has successfully completed numerous 9 and 11 day dry fasts.

A dry fast is able to address both the medical poisons and the pathogens that feed on them.

So can a fast on herbal superfood nutrition, since certain nutrients in superfoods, but not in most diets, are able to activate the immune system's natural detoxification powers, including autophagy. 

A 7+ day dry fast sounds extreme, but in truth it is not, because animals dry fast naturally when sick.

Dr. Filonov discovered this God-given ability, inherent within all life, when his dog, after being hit by a motorcycle, crawled into the barn and refused both food and water for 7 days, only to come out completely healed. “Less can be powerfully better.”

However, very few of us have the luxury of going to Russia to spend two months at a fasting clinic to heal all of our chronic conditions. (Believe me, a vast number of chronic conditions have already been shown to disappear through monitored dry fasting not absolutely everything, but over 95+% of the multiple tens of thousands of people who have gone through monitored water or dry fasting successfully at clinics worldwide.)

Decide for yourself if you recognize the truth in these multiple thousands of successes, compared to a medical myth that would try to tell you otherwise.

My 7 day herbal superfood nutrition followed by a 5 day dry fast taught me one very important thing — that you don’t have to go to Russia to begin getting positive results!

In fact, what was proven to me during my 12 day experiment, was that the foundational basis for Vital Life Essential’s existence is factually and experientially sound — Detoxify, Nourish, and Build System Strength — like the immune system, in this case, to reverse chronic conditions and restore vital health. 

The first part of this motto, detoxification, is essential to creating a vital life. Dry fasting accomplishes this process of detoxification like no other method on earth!

Herbal superfood front loading prior to a calorie-restricted diet of any kind — magnifies and accelerates the cleansing and rejuvenation effects to an even greater degree. This equates to less time fasting — with superior results sooner.

The second part of that motto is “Nourish to the max.” — This is why, prior to my dry fast of 5 days, I inadvertently did what detox fasting clinics typically do not do — I spent 7 days of herbal superfood nutrient loading — I simply nourished my body to the max.

What I did NOT do was take a bunch of isolated, individual vitamins, minerals, peptides, curcumin, or other nutrients created by a lab, or removed from its natural source within a whole herb or food – which is where “natural health failures” begin.

I merely trusted Nature and the Creator’s original sources of superfood nutrients designed for the human body from Nature’s own infinite potential.

The third part of that motto is “Build System Strength”. There is nothing better than Nature’s own herbal and energetic properties to restore rebuilding power to the body’s organ and glandular systems. 

So, I began to identify from within ancient herbal practices and contemporary science, specific herbs that would support the functions that dry fasting activates. 

These herbs would have to:

1) support the detoxification of toxins and deficient cells,

2) catalyze the repair of DNA in those cells able to be restored,

3) activate the immune system to dismantle and recycle the defective, irreparable cells,

4) stimulate stem cell proliferation to replace cells that were recycled, thereby creating a NEW YOU from the DNA up to include every body system, every cell, organ, and tissue over time.

What I discovered was that many herbs within my existing formulas already supported those very four processes, especially various fruits in Herbal C, the latest version of which, is now referred to as NeoGeneSys TWO — Herbal C Rejuv for this very reason.

What was the net result of my 7+5 day fasting experiment — (which I do not recommend)? 

I was ridding my body of defective cells and toxins for 7 days prior to my dry fast by front loading with with herbal superfood blends. My thin frame, beginning at 122, had very little cellulite to lose, if any, so what I was getting rid of were defective cells — that I later realized from the positive personality changes afterwards, had held even childhood genetic patterns.

I feel less stress, even when life on earth has become even more chaotic. I became more proactive. I speak up more now, than had been typical over the years due to childhood upbringing (which can be disconcerting at time to others), yet I am quick to own my complicity in challenging circumstances and make corrections.

I became more at peace inside, more focused, with a clearer mind for longer hours in the day.  I sleep an hour or two less than previously, yet still need that nap in the afternoon, a lifelong practice.  I'm less sensitive to certain foods.  I'm less attached to outcomes, and more capable of implementing solutions.

I attribute these benefits to cellular cleansing that once held childhood patterns, that are clearly and naturally no longer present.  

Despite these benefits, I still recommend several cautions for someone new to fasting beginning with the outright statement to NOT take this fasting process to the degree that I did. It is simply NOT necessary to get the best results.  Start with shorter, milder fasting approaches and gradually work into the longer, more strenuous approaches over several repeated fasting episodes. 

I take things to extremes so I can be well versed on where to draw the lines. I break all of the rules to understand why that rule exists. This dry fast was no exception. 

I've been at this health thing for 50 years. Testing the waters is a hobby.  OK, so I'm a slow learner, but this is why I feel comfortable creating herbal products based on the wisdom of Nature I've accumulated thus far. There's always more to learn.

Within the first three days of dry fasting I accomplished more detoxification, and twice as much weight loss, as is common during a typical clinical dry fast approach (according to the books on the subject that I read).

I consider most all herbs to be superfoods, especially those with exceptional nutrient profiles, like those I took during my 7 days prior to, and subsequent days after, my dry fast. 

These formulas included Earth & Sea Greens, Herbal C Rejuv, Mineral Manna, Stem Cells Naturally, Hyssop Pine Tea, Sea Vegetable Blend plus Moringa, Adaptogen & Mushroom Blend, Revitalize for Men / Women (I often take both), Kidney & Adrenal Builder, Sacred Clay for body slurries daily, Bath Kit for clay baths, among other individual herbs, like unsweetened cacao, pine pollen, mushroom powders, etc. 

There were others at times, but you get the point, I threw the book at it. You don't have to go that far to get good results. Some superfood nutrition is better than none.  Regular food isn't cutting it these days.

I also took the foundational herbs for a new formula that we were developing at the time for pollen and food sensitivities, with Black Seed and Nettle Seed as its basis — now called NeoGeneSys One — Cellular Rejuvenation.

Cellular Rejuvenation was created due to the discovery that these two herbs support the same cellular rejuvenation process that dry fasting does, yet while still eating one’s normal diet!

  • Black Seed is commonly referred in ancient literature as “the cure for everything but death”. Now I know why. It has to do with the way it resolves the histamine overload problem from toxins that Michelle Slater dealt with most of her life, causing her so called “Lyme” condition.

  • Nettle Seed is recognized as the most potent, effective adrenal hormonal restorative known, which is why it is commonly used for allergy relief and adrenal exhaustion. (I grow it myself and freeze dry it before powdering it to ensure its longevity in a formula.)  It also just happens to be the absolute best fiber source I have ever come across for guaranteed smooth moves!

  • Nettle Seed, and numerous other herbs, assist in the repair of DNA.  Fix the DNA and you fix the genes. Gene dysfunction is not a life sentence.  The body knows how to heal itself given the right form of whole, herbal nutrition.

Superfood nutrition front loading prior to a cleansing fast of any kind, is why I lost 1 lb per day during those 7 days of superfood nutrient loading, even with a moderate amount of solid food the whole time. The body had exactly what it needed to clean house and activate stem cell rebuilding — just like a dry fast does.

Upon finally entering the dry fast mode (no food, no water), my body was already supercharged (and fully hydrated BTW, I made sure of) to deepen the cleansing and regeneration of new cells that dry fasting excels at.

With the 7 days of nutrient loading, I had already accomplished a good portion of what dry fasting does naturally detoxify and regenerate new cells so when the dry phase began, I was already a few steps ahead of the program.

This is likely why I lost twice as much weight (4 lbs) each day during the first 3 days, than the more typical 2 lbs per day for those beginning fresh into dry fasting when following the clinic’s recommended gradual reduction in food intake for two weeks prior to beginning the dry fast (which is still good advice) — the difference being, the simple replacement of diminishing food intake prior to a fast with increasing amounts of herbal superfood nutrition — if one wants to obtain maximum results in the shortest amount of time.

So, theoretically, my accidental discovery has led me to consider the possibility that herbal superfood front loading of a dry fast just might compress 6 days of dry fasting into 3 days, or 4 days of dry fasting into 2 days. Unproven, but an interesting potential, none the less.

Therefore, if specific herbal superfood nutrition supports the same body processes as dry fasting, why not put these two powerful rejuvenative processes together to get even better results than either one alone — even with milder fasting approaches, like:

  • intermittent fasting,
  • water fasting,
  • juice fasting,
  • or just as a meal replacement from time to time,
  • or simply to desire less food during a single meal, regardless of what dietary choice is chosen?

OK, so here’s the first two responses I get from most people when answering questions about my personal successes with superfood and dry fasting:

  • “I’m afraid to just quit my normal diet and go cold turkey into fasting.”

  • “I can’t afford to take that much time off like you did.” 

These are both completely valid responses, and happen to be the same reasons I used to avoid going deep into fasting sooner (until I began to recognize the all embracing potentials experienced by the few brave souls who did, and were able to take the time).

However, answers (and time) come to us when we open to receive them with an intensity that acts like a strong magnet. 

This is another way of saying, “Necessity becomes the mother of invention.”

Wait long enough and the discomfort will drive the implementation of a solution to your pain or misery to the top of the list of priorities.

The smart ones begin early.

This is why I am proposing a much more gradual integrated approach to a fasting protocol of any kind. Begin by simply adding herbal superfood nutrition to your current diet.

In a short amount of time, you will notice how your food preferences naturally change for the better, how you begin to sleep better, feel better, and have more energy. 

The body will rebuild itself gradually over time, given the proper superfood nutrition.

So, do I have to dry fast to get some good results?

No, good results can be obtained by merely adding quality superfood nutrition to your current dietary program, then decide how and when you feel ready to reduce food intake for brief periods of time. 

Nutrient deficiency is one of the primary causes of chronic conditions. Herbal superfood nutrition solves this problem at its core. 

So, when you take the additional step of reducing the dietary food intake, even for one day, even if it merely means skipping one meal, or eating less, you are multiplying the benefits of herbal superfood nutrition.

Do I have to go for 7 days on superfood nutrition with a lower food intake to get good results?

No, even one day on superfoods with your current diet, just as it is, can begin to make a difference. 

The longer, quality herbal nutrition is added to your current diet, the better you will feel. 

Over time, if not with your first meal attempt, you will begin to notice that by consuming herbal superfood nutrition 20 minutes or more prior to a meal, that you will naturally prefer less of the solid food, because your body will have already received what it needs in the first place — full spectrum nutrient profiles required to naturally clean house, restore cellular health, and improve body system functions (digestion, immune system activity, circulation, blood sugar regulation, etc.).

When you get used to receiving real cellular nourishment from herbal superfoods, the bulky stuff we typically call “food” will eventually become recognized for what it really is — just “entertainment”.

Most “food” today is so nutrient deficient, it cannot even approximate the nutrition potency of thousands of phytonutrients in a single tablespoon of a green superfood blend of seaweeds, algae, mushrooms, adaptogens, alfalfa, nettle, pollen, etc., such as what already exists in Earth & Sea Greens, or Sea Vegetable Blend plus Moringa

As one that has already performed several fasts of various kinds, what if I want to extend my superfood loading beyond 3 days, or extend a dry fast more than one day, is there a limit to how long?

Yes! It depends on your current toxicity level and unique physical requirements, whether you are doing clay baths regularly or not, whether you have access to saunas, or have other ways of drawing out the toxins that front loading of superfoods and dry fasting, or any restrictive dieting protocol, can catalyze over time. 

While herbal superfood front loading is less drastic than dry fasting or water fasting, it is still an effective detoxification protocol all by itself. It takes longer, but is far less drastic, far fewer recovery days needed, if any, and fills the body with multiple thousands of phytonutrients that your body knows exactly what to do with — naturally.

It means listen carefully to your innate intuition.

Each time I fasted, whether with just herbal nutrients, and certainly with the dry fasting, when it came time to stop for various reasons, I had an inner knowing — don’t go further, stop fasting and start eating!!! — and don't consume acidic fruits, beverages, or foods, like citrus, vinegar, coffee, etc. upon breaking an extended fast.  Get alkaline first.

Prior to entering my first day of dry fasting, I naively held a potential ambition to go dry for 11 days, although I was not attached to the goal, as this was unknown territory for me.

Approaching my 5th day of dry, it became uncomfortably clear that I may not want to even go to 7 days.

At the end of the 5th day of dry, sitting at 101 lbs (I never expected to get below 110), I knew my body would not take any more fasting, as I had nothing left to burn. 

My thin frame had lost 14 lbs in 5 days and 7 lbs prior to that from the front loading. It was time to give my endogenous (internal) stem cells their day in the sun, to begin replacing the massive number of defective cells that had been dismantled and recycled.

These were cells that had been associated to my genetic family history going back, possibly, multiple generations, in addition to personal life habits, and environmental toxicity we are all subjected to, that had been removed and recycled for the water and metabolic compounds that could be used elsewhere in the body for survival and repair.

The ego of former goal setting has nothing to do with the moment it’s time to stop fasting. 

Listen to your intuition — carefully, and follow it!

Gladly, I exited the dry fast and entered into the recovery and rebuilding phase.

Being thin, my goal is different than one that is starting off overweight. I anticipated regaining my starting weight (which happened by the 12th day upon ending the dry fast), then continuing to build muscle mass to at least half again what was lost. This would only put me close to 132, but it would be muscle, not just a layer of cellulite. Time will tell.

So for one who is wanting to lose weight and keep it off, it is even more important to GO GRADUAL with regard to extending a fasting protocol. 

Much of the cellulite is harboring toxins of various kinds. As it is burned, they will need to be flushed out of the system regularly WITH WATER and clay slurries on the skin, or clay baths frequently. 

Also, a good amount of slimming can be done with just the herbal superfood nutrient loading daily with light meals throughout the day, then a day or more on just the liquid herbal superfood blends, and possibly, eventually, one dry fast day to deepen cellular cleansing.

Clinics recommend before doing a dry fast, do a one day water fast, to see how well you tolerate it, then consider a dry fast at some point in the future after that.

Based on my personal experience, the vast majority of benefits from my dry fast was derived from the first two days (36 hours is very close to 2 days, and sufficient for most to be very effective!).

7 Days of herbal superfood front loading accomplished 7 lbs of weight loss, roughly one third of the total 22 lbs of old, useless, cellular cleanout. 

Going beyond the third day, was completely unnecessary — in fact any more than five and it could have been harmful. 

Be wise, be conservative, and take more time to give your body the resources it needs to clean house effectively. 

“Less can be powerfully better.”  Then, with every extreme, the pendulum will swing to the opposite to restore balance.

This may mean MORE WATER and MORE NUTRIENTS at the right time, not less. Your intuition knows this already — listen to it!!

(Read Michelle Slater's book first if you desire to undertake a dry fast, although most anyone can handle a water fast for one or two days.)

The only people who have ever been harmed by dry fasting, only 3 out of over 25,000 successful resolutions to their conditions through one clinic, are those who simply did not follow the rules.  They obviously were not listening to their own body's intuitive nudgings and went directly against the advice of their practitioners, then went off on their own.  

There are a few who took 21 day breatharian retreats with health complications or excess weight, without gradually tapering into extensive fasting over several months prior to the retreat, and some who broke their fast with citrus juice (causing acidosis) that did not survive. 

Dry fasting is an acidic experience, go alkaline upon returning to liquids. Dark green algae (spirulina, for example, or Sea Vegetable Blend plus Moringa), leafy greens, alfalfa, and watermelon are examples.  Use lemon water prior to a intensive fast, but not immediately after. 

The rules exist for a reason. Be gradual, and if you are on pharmaceutical chemicals, then obtain professional guidance before entering into any form of extensive fasting. Read Michelle's book.

To prove the importance of this, take a look at the urine collected during the last 4 days of my dry fast, compared to the first day after the dry phase ended (on right), as water reentered my system. Diminishing urine volume each day (derived from baths, showers, and from cellular dismantling) reflected increasing dehydration. Time to quit the fast!

See how dark the 'after fast' sample is? WATER did this. This is what did NOT get out of the body during the dry phase.  This waste began to flood out of the body AFTER water entered in sufficient quantities for the kidneys, etc. to finally be able flush it out.

Dry fasting is a catalyst intended to be brief. Water and superfoods are also essential to staying in balance.

There is a time and a season for everything. Respect the seasons.
